Although "silk" is a common generic term used to describe artificial flowers and foliage, our flowers and foliage are made of combinations of fabric and synthetic materials that have far more substance and durability and do not fray or fade as silk does. The expression, “silk” pays homage to the silk flowers that were hand-crafted in Europe and China for centuries, until modern fabrics, coatings and assembly techniques gave artificial flowers a natural realism and resulting cachet of their own.
